Make a Difference

What is the vision?

Our vision is to turn a vacant retail shop in into a vibrant "Urban Space." This space will serve as an affordable workspace for businesses and incubation for start-ups. By making use of a shop premises, we aim to build community capacity, enhance health outcomes, celebrate the artistic talents of the Black community, and facilitate entrepreneurship.

Why are we doing this?

Repurposing a shop unit isn't just about fixing up an empty space — it's about putting the Black community at the forefront of Edmonton's regeneration efforts led by the London Borough of Enfield. It will also create a visible hub for community involvement, outreach, and economic empowerment, while addressing the lack of Black-owned businesses on the high street.

How is the Black Heritage Hub involved?

The Black Heritage Hub is totally committed to this initiative. Working closely with volunteers, frontline organisations, businesses, and local authority, we're actively addressing the root causes of disparities and meeting the diverse needs of the Black community – Enfield's second-largest ethnic group totalling 61,223 individuals.

How can I help?

Can you give a few hours to help change more than just a shop? Your participation in this project will make a difference in the lives of local people in Enfield. Whether you're good at building, designing, or just want to pitch in, your help is invaluable.

Register your interest to join us on this journey. Let's not just build a hub, but also a better future for Enfield's Black community.
